Remember when I said I wanted to get a Mac? I was planning to get it when I have enough stash under my pillow, probably somewhere middle of this year. But through the sheer power of the universe, I’m proud to say that I have been “Mac”atized last week. Yeap, earlier than anticipated. So I’m a Mac, and Linux, but not a PC user.

It was Friday night and I was lazing on my sofa in the living room surfing the channel. The life of an Internet junkie, when you don’t surf on your PC, you have to surf the channel. If I was a tiny man, I would probably assume the surfer position and constantly switching channel using my leg. As I was “surfing”, my KVM switch went of giving out a constant high pitch buzz. This is a brand new KVM switch. I use it to connect both of my laptops to one keyboard and mouse, which is also brand new, except for the keyboard which I intend to get a new one because the keyboard layout doesn’t suit my hand or is it just my finger who liked to keep on pressing the Print Screen button instead of back space. Seriously, that button should be lined together with the function keys and not next to the backspace button, just like the ole keyboard arrangement. Think I got off track a bit there. So anyway, I plugged out one of the cable from my KVM and the buzzing stopped.

The next morning, as I was about to reboot my laptop and plug in the KVM cable, the circuit breaker tripped. I though maybe someone flip a faulty switch so I turn on the circuit breaker back on. Then I try to plug in my KVM again and it tripped, again. Word couldn’t express how I felt about it at that time. My laptop caused the trip. My laptop! The one I use for work. The one where I keep all my photo, music, document, that very laptop and it caused the trip. That only the half of the story. I also noticed that morning, my old laptop, where the touchpad button and top lid are made and covered with metal have static charged. I figured maybe a faulty earthing wire that caused the problem. In a short moment something blew up. I thought one of my nano-bomb implant cricket experiment blew up. After a closer inspection, the fault came from the adapter of my old laptop. That was the culprit for all of my problem. Now my old laptop was running fine at first but it too are dead now.

This is where it get exciting. The moment dad knew that I blew my laptop, he offered to buy a new one. My dad offered to buy a new laptop. I kinda feel bad about it but then again, add up with what I have, I can actually get a Mac. So I opened up my laptop to check if the drive is still OK and it is. Still feeling bad, I tried to revive my laptop a few times. I really do. But it simply wont start. There goes my plan using Linux on it.

So now here I am, still having that “ooohh” and “aaahhh” with Cik Bedah. Yeah kinda strange naming my MacBook Pro that but I really, I mean really love my Cik Bedah. If my testicle were made of USB, I would probably plugged in to her everyday, you know what I’m saying? I love the iPhoto so much, I can recognize faces on my photo, really!. And the Address Book, it synchronize nicely with my Nokia phone, and you don’t even need to use PC Suite to do that. And the revolutionary multi-touchpad is marvelous. In all, my laptop experience have changed. I don’t think I would even want to look at Windows again. This is a truly marvelous MAChine. So when is my turn? I think it is now!

OK I need to go and make love to Cik Bedah!
